The official KI-POINT luggage storage room is located at Via Giolitti 40, at platform 24 near car rental services. It is on floor 0 and is open from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. The room is signposted and served by a tactile path.
If you have heavy bags, look for the elevators to move between levels, as the escalators can be crowded and difficult to navigate with large suitcases.
Toilets: Public restrooms are located on the underground level. They cost €1 (coins only), so keep some change handy. They are generally well-maintained and cleaner than expected for a major station.
WiFi: While the station offers connectivity, it can be spotty. Rely on your own mobile data or an eSIM for reliable navigation.

Roma Termini is a bustling terminus station and Italy’s busiest rail hub. While it is vast, its layout is designed for high-volume flow. Think of the station as a massive, single-level fan: the main concourse sits behind the buffer stops, and all platforms extend outward from this central area like spokes on a wheel. Because it is a terminus, you do not need to navigate complex underground tunnels to reach your train; you simply walk from the main hall directly onto your platform.
The station features 32 platforms in total, but they are not all arranged in a simple, side-by-side row. Platforms 1 through 24 are located in the main departure hall, numbered from left to right if you are facing the trains with your back to the Piazza dei Cinquecento entrance. Platform 1 is near the Via Marsala side, while platform 24 is toward the Via Giolitti side.
Be aware of the "hidden" platforms, which often confuse first-time visitors. Platforms 25–29 are not immediately visible in the main hall; you must walk to the far end of platform 24 and continue walking for about 450–500 meters to reach them. Similarly, platforms 1 East and 2 East are located at the far end of platform 1. If your ticket lists one of these, do not panic—simply follow the signs for the higher or "East" numbers. Because of these distances, this is a large station; if you are carrying heavy luggage, allow an extra 10–15 minutes to reach these outer platforms from the main entrance.
To navigate successfully, never rely solely on your ticket for platform information. Platform numbers are frequently assigned only 10–15 minutes before departure. Always look for the large digital "Partenze" (Departures) screens in the main hall. Confirm your train by its unique number and final destination rather than just the time, as screens update in real-time. Once you have your platform, pass through the security turnstiles by scanning your ticket. The station is mostly flat, making it accessible for travelers with luggage, but always stay alert, keep your belongings secure, and leave yourself at least 20 minutes to transition from the entrance to your train.
Roma Termini is a massive, bustling hub. I wish someone had told me how vast it truly is before I arrived, as it can feel overwhelming. Don't worry, though—once you know the layout, it’s quite efficient.
